
A survey mentioned New York as the best marine in the world. The survey by YouGov which represents the Shipping Association (PSA) of Britain issued to mark the beginning of National Cruise Week on 18 to 25 September 2011 in England. The survey was based on the British tourist who travel cruises. As quoted from Dailymail, Venice is ranked second. Last year, Venice has been named the best marina in the world in the same survey.
PSA alone predicts 1.7 million British tourists went sightseeing with cruise ship in 2011. This figure shows an increase of 1.62 million people last year. In the UK, tourist cruise ships accounted for 12 percent of overseas tour packages to the British public interest.
According to the survey, the majority of tourists (57 percent) prefer to travel by cruise ship can be visiting a lot of reasons for destinations in one trip. Some 17 percent of respondents said taking a vacation cruise ship denagn the offers of entertainment on cruise ships. While 36 percent of respondents saw a complete tour packages offered by cruise ship to be the main factor of their interest.
Meanwhile, in a survey this year on the third rank is held three places, namely Barcelona, Rome, and Singapore. This means that Singapore became the only country in Asia that fall into three major rankings.
What about Indonesia? The main constraint is Indonesia not yet have an international-standard port for cruise ships. This is concerning because Indonesia is an archipelagic country. The plan, Land Ampo in Karangasem, Bali, will be a port for cruise ships. Meanwhile, based on information from Kemenbudpar, Singapore which has an area smaller than Indonesia, annually receives 300-400 yachts.
