Malaysian tourists who came to North Sulawesi (Sulawesi) decreased 45.8 percent to only 33 people in July 2010 compared to the previous month. “June 2010, the number of Malaysian tourists who come are still as many as 72 people, but fell sharply on July 33. Even so, it is unknown whether the decline is nothing to do with the Indonesia-Malaysia relations which worsened this past weekend,” said Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics ( BPS), North Sulawesi, Build Services, in Galway.
Jasa Bangun said, although the number of tourist visiting Malaysia has decreased, but in general the tourist visits to North Sulawesi, in July 2010 was still higher than the previous June. “Tourists who come to visit in North Sulawesi, there were 1776 people, has increased by 11.70 percent compared to June 1590 just as many people.”
Despite increased compared with previous months this year, but when compared to the same position the previous year which recorded as many as 2615 people, the visit of tourists in July this year decreased by 32.08 percent.
“August 2009, more tourists come because of the related implementation of several international events held in Manado, while this year there was no agenda,” said Service.
From several countries who came to North Sulawesi, the most widely noted German tourists reached 156 people, 150 people followed by the Netherlands, the United States 128, Japan 119, England and Australia each 118 people, 44 people in South Korea, the Philippines, 11 people, and other countries.
